International Dog Day isn’t just about celebrating the dog curled up beside you. It’s also remembering the ones still waiting for their someone. Because every dog deserves to know what it feels like to be safe & loved…and that’s what rescue is all about.
At Wendal’s Way Dachshund Rescue, we see dogs arrive into our care scared and alone…some passed from home to home, senior dogs, scared dogs, dogs with medical needs. And then little by little, we watch them discover what love & safety feels like. Some may be adopted quickly, some may take a little longer. And there are some who need us for the rest of their lives. But every single one matters. They just need someone to see beneath their fear, their medical issues, their extra weight, or whatever other issues they’re carrying.
So today, on International Dog Day, celebrate & spoil your dog (although honestly, dogs deserve to be spoiled 365 days of the year). And just maybe you can help change the life of a dog that is still waiting.
