A GOOD BOY
I am a handsome neutered (of course) 20lb chiweenie (that’s a chihuahua and dachshund mix for those who don’t know) who came into foster care very skittish and scared. My foster parents recognized my fears and have been helping me work on my confidence. I am so much braver than when I arrived. My bark is big and not suitable for apartment or condo dwelling. I’m fully housetrained and love getting outside daily for walks and following all the scents.

I will pick my person and stick to you like glue, but that doesn’t mean I won’t give kisses to your partner, especially at bedtime. It will take me some time to trust my new people and surroundings so I’ll need you to be patient with me and offer lots of positive reassurance. But I’m very inquisitive and willing to learn. I will probably always be timid but I promise to be loyal and love you as long as you love me. I’m also good at entertaining myself – playing with my squirrel stuffie or chasing my tail and I get the zoomies when I’m excited.

* will take some time to adjust to his new surroundings
* has separation anxiety
* not comfortable being picked up or held but will tolerate it
* not a fan of being crated
* not tested with cats, but most likely a NO

* requires a regular daily routine and a quiet household
* requires a person(s) with lots of patience and reassurance or someone used to a timid dog
* looking for a retired or work-from-home household
* no children
* fenced yard or ALWAYS on his harness and leash – will bolt/run when frightened
* no apartments or condos, preferably a home with a bit of land for scent walks
